I had a sliding glass door installed but when I pull on the door to check it is locked it moves about 2 inches. The guy who did it says all sliding doors require a degree of movement from the frame when it is locked. Does this sound credible?
That's sounds odd but at the top of your mortise lock in the door is a screw and that should adjust the hook bolt but it won't adjust 2 inches thou. It also depends on the door with the lock low end doors might not have the adjustable hook.
When it is locked there should not be 2" of movement. It sounds as if it was not installed properly or it is a very poor quality door.
No. It may have slight movement but thats all.
Thanks for the replies.
The doors are new and attached to a big set of new windows.I can see screw holes in the door frame attached to the windows frame but there is nothing to screw into. Maybe there is supposed to be wood in there for support?
