From the vent of my washroom, after every 15-20 seconds there is a sound for one second. The sound is like the sound of drill machine from the distance. Yesterday the furnace installer came and said that igniter need to be changed because after that sound the furnace wasn't working. So he changed the igniter, it was covered under warranty. After that the furnace was working but sound is still coming. He said it coming from pump and that's normal.
From I listen to the sound by standing close to the furnace, I can hear the bubbles of water too. Like you blow in glass of water with straw.
Is this sound ok? I never noticed it untill a month ago, since I started using the furnace.
Do you have a pump on the furnace? That is what most likely the bubble sound is from. The pump moves water from your drain pan to a floor drain or laundry sink if there isn't one in or near the furnace area.
It doesn't seem normal it most probably your inducer motor.
It is hard to diagnose a sound without inspecting it, but I suspect the most likely cause is the condensate pump on the furnace, if a high efficiency furnace. High efficiency furnaces by their design create condensation and a pump is used to drain the system. The pump will make noise when on and will make gurgling sounds when most of the water is removed, before it shuts off. The noise should not be very loud and could be a sign the pump is failing. I would keep an eye the furnace, make sure the pump stays working and there is no water leaks for now. If the noise becomes worse contact a local reputable firm to come out and diagnose the problem.
I am always suprised at some of the cures I read about. What in tbe world could your ignitor have to do with this sound. The sound you are hearing is the draft inducer impellers hitting water that has not drained out of the impeller housing. It goes away after a short time because the inducer pushs the water to the furnance consensate trap. Your problem is your trap on the furnance is not being allowed to drain by gravity as it should. The installers have not installed your dtainage piping correcty or the trap has crap in it not allowing the water to drain. The installer should come back correct the drainage problem or if it is a blocked trap all he needs is a good shop vacumm and he can get rid of the problem in a minute. What are they teaching these kids in trade school? All the best Jack
