Hello

You can most certainly install stucco over top of wood siding, If it is vinyl siding, absolutely must come off as there is no way to guarantee the final product to be a smooth, level surface however I recommend that it be removed as you do not know if the structural framing is in great shape nor is the building envelope up to current codes. And any company who tells you that they recommend going over top is lazy and only want to preform work that is easy, instead of doing it the right way.

More importantly, as a paying customer are you wanting the job done right the first time? I suggest that you use due diligence and research product specifications, all manufacturers recommend removing previous materials to the original structural framing, instead of relying on a contractor to tell you what is best.

All too often we have customers call us about an unsatisfied work preformed by others, where we have to remove 2 layers which increase the cost significantly.

The measurements you have provided I calculate total area coverage to be less that 1000 sqft, based on our prices in Calgary total cost including dump fees would be $1975 + GST

Good luck
