Hi to all.
So I'm a taper doing piecework for small company and I got offer for big job; 66000sqft just walls approx 20' tall, t bar goes on ceilings. So as I never worked for myself I don't know how much per sqft should I charge for taping, mudding and sanding? And how much for eventually Level 5?
Thank you in advance for your answers and help.
Hi there,
Frstly you have to determine can you handle 66000 sq. ft ? What manpower do you have and what are the projects time lines.
There are two cautions Level % for the entire 66000 sq. is a big commitment and you have 20 ft hi walls.
the mud and tape will run you between .25 and .35 cents per foot.. do you own scissor lifts ? Factor rentals - bottom line I would be pricing between .95 to 1.10 per ft. Depending on competition.
If it's commercial price it near $0.60 sqft. You will need WSIB coverage. Residential $0.35 - $0.40 sqft depending on who supplies materials.
if you supply you'll need to charge about $1.00 sq/ft
No no no. If you are supplying, the charge has to be $ 1.80 because you have to consider that is not the same thing mud 8 f. high that 20 f. high. And use a sprayer mud machine, it is super fast.
