What would be the thickness of the chip board floor and the joists dimensions under it, in the house built in 1989 in Brampton?
Thanks
Hi. The OSB is likely 5/8" thick and the floor joist should be on 16" centers
That would be OSB ( oriented strand board )5/8 thick.
Floor "chip board" (OSB) is 5/8"
Floor joists 2"x10" (1" 1/2" x 9" 1/2)
16" OC (on centre) spacing.
There should also be bridging (X configured 2"x2") between all joists to keep them from twisting.
