I am having a mudroom built and need the floor tiled. I have the tiles, and asked a contractor for a quote to install but it seems quite high. How much should I expect to pay for install (labour, thinset, ditra, grout etc.). I'm in Toronto

It will cost you not more than $1000 with a right contractor. If you inquire from a GC it can go up to $1500. Small area don't go by sq ft. I don't know why some people advise without knowledge. The important thing is to find a right contractor. Some people might offer to do it for $500 but I wouldn't go that route.
