Can you install a 4.8L toilet in a basement or does it need to be 6L?
I was specifically looking at the American Standard Sonoma Cadet 4.8
Hi Kathy
I think a 6 L toilet it will Performi better having more water for the waste to be moved tthrough the horizontal drainage
As long as the horizontal run it's not too long and the rough in plumbing is was done correctly I think even the 4.8 L will be OK
Hi, Basement toilet options: Depending on your existing plumbing you have a bomber of choices of Commodes for your new Bathroom.
Pressure assisted toilet Al though your draing lines may technically be deep for gravity fed plumbing the fall still is not as strong in the basement as his on super floors.
A Revised design.
The industries has also introduced high Performance 4.5 litre and 4.8 litre models equipped with a simplified mechanism.
Watch out!
One minor hitch installing a low flush toilet could be a mistake in Basement old drain pipes.
The smaller volume of water combined with a lack of height on low angles in sewers accumulated in the pipes of if the backup valve is worn out this should be taken in to account.
Other inportant elements:
In buying a toilet.
1- Quality of the PORCELAIN.
2-Availability of spare parts.
3-Isulation inside the thank.
4- Traps (the opening at the bottoms of the bowl lined up at the floor grange with the drainage pipes).
5-Round or elongated bowl.
6-Hights of the bowl.
To Conclude:when replacing a standard toilet, remember that it s use accounts for nearly one- third of house 's water Consumption.
Yes it can be installed in your basement.
That's a good toilet
Thank you very much for your responses.
By all reviews the replacement I was thinking of has good pressure, and excuse the pun, should do the job :-)
I really appreciate the input. thanks again
