Walk-up basement door

Hello pros,

At what depth is rebar required to be attached to the foundation? The top of the landing will be just under 2 feet below grade.

Possibly have a 36-40" x 48" landing with 3 steps at 7" rise and 12" run.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions

Hi Pauli,

looking at your picture there are a few questions come to mind,

I can not see a pipe to weeping tile or a sump pump to drain the rain from the slab, without it you will have water leek into the house,

the other point is inside the basement what is the height from the floor to the cut in the wall, you need at least 48" or you need to reinforce the foundation, and it is always good to connect the slab to the wall so in time it will not separate from the wall.

Thanks,

Harry C.
