Hi guys,
I am looking forward to buy a pair of LED slim panel lights https://www.mrlighting.com/led-slim-panels-1063, and before going ahead with the purchase, I want to clear certain doubts. I am curious about the longevity of the product, I mean, how long does it last. I am also concerned about the installation part, does it require electricians to install the products, or can I do it myself. I do not want my light to be too bright, just sufficient to light my little room. Just wanted to know your opinion on the best brand that I should go for. Since all the product are made in China and probably in the same factory, I am not sure how good a product is, and I do not want to pay a premium on the brand name. So, the point is, I do not want to buy some thing that is very expensive, yet not reliable. Do you really think that LED's are more efficient that CFL's, I mean, is it worth it. I have been raising this concerns with my friends, but I seems to get know clear answer. My friends are surprisingly split in the middle, when it comes to LED VS CFL debate. I want to clear answer, to move ahead with the purchase.
If you could suggest any product, that you think would suit me, probably a brand name or an item code, I could probably go to a near by light accessories shop to find out more.
Thanks
Hi,
Usually do want to get panel installed by electrician, if your handy person its slim installation, its just 3 wires, positive, negative, ground, in & out if you want to connect more. My opinion any brand is still from china, some of the big brands have quality, high standard requirements. You need to be carefully, led driver, diffuser, heat sink, if its not high quality, most like to fail, drivers are the main component that fails in led lighting, due to cheap quality .I have 2 lines eco which is 3 year warranty, components are cheaper to bring cost down, mostly contractors buy this from me. My premium like any brand like lotus lighting or Liteline which is best on the market, they are expensive, my premium is 25 years warranty. My new 3cct panel will be life time. I can offer this due to my quality of panel, i work and develop with factories, others you see they buy from wholesalers from me, or look at price in china to buy.
Refer to this links
Most sellers use PS diffuser lens, this will turn yellow after few years, PMMA is best quality in diffueser lens .
Anything around the $13-15 is low quality .

Hope this answers your question.
Anyone who compares CFL to LED and thinks CFL are better need to go back to school. CFL are filled with mercury, give off UV rays, hard to recycle and the power factor and troubles they give to aluminum wiring connections are a huge hassle. Commercial use also has issues. They need to be removed from use everywhere.
Simple LED panel lights (4" round) are a throw away item. I've bought expensive $35 each and cheap $9 each and have had problems with both within 3 months, especially with dimmers.
Lotus are the market leaders and first on the shelf, but I've had to replace many of them.
You get what you pay for though on the cheap end. $10-$20 average pricing.
Large 2x2' or 2x4", stay with a quality brand. Lithonia are very good.
Hi. Pay attention to the led pendant lights, I think they will suit you. In the modern world, LED sources are used to illuminate spaces both indoors and outdoors: ceilings, walls, stairways, cabinets, mezzanines, kitchen work areas, plants or aquarium fauna, bathrooms, niches, mirrors and even light compositions on the street - in all these places it can now easily become as light as day. A thin panel will be a great solution and will give out enough light since this is an LED.
The panels allow you to decorate the interior, while providing high-quality lighting, and the wide range makes it possible to embody bold and non-standard solutions, giving the interior a unique individuality. They absolutely do not interfere with low ceilings or narrow aisles, which allows you to embed panels of a wide variety of shapes and outlines in any convenient place. That is why practically no modern renovation is complete without the use of this type of illumination in rooms of any purpose.
