We have water pooling out in the furnace room. It doesn't appear to be coming from the furnace. It's coming from the concrete flooring, by the wall, that separates the furnace room from the laundry room, but originates in the furnace room.
There hasn't been any rain here in about a week, so foundation issue seems unlikely. The water leaks even when no laundry is being done, so it can't be coming from the washing machine.
Any ideas where the water is originating? I need to locate the source, to know what type of contractor to hire.
I've attached a photo.
Thanks for you help.
It's hard to tell from just the photo and description but I'd start with a plumber or handyman.
Hi Diane, if you are sure it is originating in the furnace room then it's possible that the condensate line from the AC is plugged. Simple fix, just blow it out. If it is an interior wall with laundry on the other side then you have to get the drains and water lines checked. A handyman could probably find the problem for you but you may have to get the appropriate trade for the repair.
Good luck with it.
