I just bought this house 4 months ago and had someone come in a do a ceiling texture for me. The person who owned the house before we bought it was a heavy smoker. We used kiltz original on almost all the other surfaces to get rid of smell and staining, and used the Valspar color changing ceiling paints on all our other ceilings.
The ceiling has spots of where the old yellow smoke residue is coming through pretty bad. I am afraid that using the kiltz will make some the design less detailed with how thick it is, but I'm also worried our ceiling paint would be to thin to really cover the stains.
What would be the best paint to use on our ceiling?

What I would do in this case.is to spray it with a flat sheen ceiling paint that is oil based.the reason the nicotine comes through. Is its water salubal. So oil will block it
