Just creating a suite in lower level and looking for cost right now.
Thanks.
Hi Megan,
Most of the work should be done as a rough in during the build. The ductwork is much easier and the electrician will put in a dedicated circuit. Once that is done, and the cabinets are installed, it should be about 2 hours max to install the hood, and connect the duct and power. It would be extremely difficult to do it as a separate project from scratch without major destruction and repair.
Hope this clarifies a bit.

It depends on the situation. Roughly $200-350.
A hood fan alone costs $75-$600. The cheaper units won't need duct but could still be vented outside costing more money. Power for these small units can be run off a local outlet without too much trouble. Fans over 400 cfm may require 6" - 8" duct vented outside and can easily take a few hours and may run up to $600-$800 for all materials, cutting holes, running wires, etc. New wiring for these bigger units must be done by a qualified electrician to be done by Canadian Electrical Codes, contact one locally for a quote and be prepared to hire a handyman to run the duct and cut the holes as some electricians wont do this for you.
