Where can I get fire rated interior pocket doors that meet BC building codes?

Krista,

I have pocket doors in my house but they aren't fire rated. I haven't heard of this being a part of the building code but maybe it's just B.C. I would suggest calling a local building inspector (should be in the phone book or on line) and ask ... first, if it is necessary and second where they would suggest for a supplier.

Wish I could provide more help but this is one of those odd requests.

Hi Krista,

I am pretty sure you should just be looking at the fire rating of the door that goes into the pocket door. Typically a 45 minute rating or something along those lines.

I have used McGregor Thompson Hardware in the past for fire rated doors and hardware, I would suggest contacting them, they have an office in Victoria.
