Does the framer install windows in a newly constructed home, or would this be done by a window installer?

Hi Mary, in general, both can install windows in new construction. The general contractor is going to make the decision based on client wishes, budget, trade scheduling and availability. A subdivision is going to be based on competitive bids while a custom home builder will have 1 or 2 companies that do his work, within the budget the client gives him.

Hope this helps!

Jim is right,

But it helps the schedule if the framer installs, as he is already on site and you can get the windows installed very quickly, which helps with scheduling.
