Hi again,
From the carpets vs laminate thread, it seems like laminate was an overwhelming response.
So who makes a good product?
What are the best brands?
Going to try and start shopping for a good price today once I figure out which brands are worth pursuing
Thanks again!
Hi Jassica
In my opinion better is hire someone who can provide laminate and insulation. All flooring company have simple of laminate
Hi Jessica,
As far as laminate goes the brand isn't all that important. What you're looking for is thickness (7mm = cheapest, in more than one way vs. 10mm+). Go with a thicker laminate, being 10mm or better.
Lowe's has a sale on laminate flooring right now. Usually they are very knowledgeable and can help you sort out which of all the options are the best for your application.
As for price point, they're generally all priced the same based on mm thickness.
Good luck!
Fascinating, thank you. I would've expected there to be well known brands out there. I know from when I was shopping for hardwood, Vintage was considered like the best of the best while there were much cheaper brands out there.. Thought maybe laminate was the same way. Was hoping there would be some kind of brand to pursue to try and get a good deal.. we are a young married couple without tons of money and are definitely doing our research first
Thank you Tim!
I know redflagdeals forums all like the Costco brand (Golden Select?)
Check with Lowes, they have a great selection of flooring. Try to stay away from the really cheap stuff since it is often very thin and will not stand up to daily wear and tear. Flooring is definitely one of those items that you get what you pay for. I have used the Mohawk 12mm Reclaimed Chestnut Smooth Laminate Flooring with good results.
