Hi, i would like to ask in regards to grading land in the negative frozen temperatures, how to go about grading the soil slopes and the gravel etc during negative 15-20 temperatures. please advise
Winter soil grading is not recommended for a few reasons. First, the ground at the Temps we've had in Ontario this winter mean the ground is frozen quite deep already. Second, when you grade soil in the winter, the moisture doesn't spread as it does normally. So you will be re-grading it in the spring summer. Third, the are way more costs involve to grade in the winter because everything has to be done with heavy machinery. I would wait ubtil spring. Hope this helps.
Best advice I could give you is don't even consider it. Wait till thaw and dry conditions. You then only have to do it once.
I'd have to agree with the other comments. The only questions I'd ask you are where is the land in reference to your property and how large is this area?
Dont even consider this process. You will end up creating work
