What does it cost to build a car?

Well it depends on what type of car you want to build and how long you want it to last.

Same goes for garages or any other type of construction.

A basic 20x20 garage including a poured concrete foundation can cost as little as $18,000 in Alberta at least if basic materials (vinyl siding and low cost shingles) and low cost labour is used.

However if you prefer the garage to last longer and have a warranty to back that up, you will want to partner with a contractor who has the skills and quality labour and materials needed to provide a 5 or 10 year warranty or more. This could cost anywhere from $20,000 to $22,000 or more depending on site conditions and materials chosen.

A very basic way to estimate the cost of building a detached garage is to simply apply a typical average per square foot construction of $80 - $100. If there are complications or you prefer top quality materials and components the price can easily will go up. This can serve as a very rough basis.

Everything will depend on the materials prices and labor expenses. Installation of cement siding and a slate roof might double the cost in comparison with vinyl siding and an asphalt shingles roof. If it is an attached garage and house design will require matching in style, costs of construction will increase as well.
