I've got a combined dining/living room that is blond laminate; taupe walls...size 15X30 ft....black couches, dinign table, glass coffee/end tables...what kind of area rugs would look good there and should the two of them (dining/living) be the same rugs or different?

pick a punch colour. Sounds like your space is fairly neutral. as for them being the same....

I would go with something more plush in living room

and something with a "harder" texture in the dining room. keeping tones similar.

hope this helps

Depends on style of the room & color in rug should be in room.

I am just dry brushing a glass coffee table & end tables for a client. They picked a fabulous rug when they went shopping with my suggestions but glass coffee table ( sale) & end tables they got disappear on it. But with drybrush to details - it works.

Also depends on size of the room. Under a table it has to be large enough so when chairs are pulled out - they are on rug & guest don't end up tipping chair over., when they pull chair out

In living room area small rooms a 6X9 is good. Pick a good quality one They don't roll up @ edges & last longer. Also People love shags it seems again - however pets - nightmare.

tightly woven- good rug. Also do you have kids? need to stand up to cleaning as well.
