I am just wondering where we can mount a wall clock so that it can be seen and heard. It is a beautiful clock, ( not a grandfather clock) but our home is open concept. There are not many walls where items can be mounted. There is one full wall in our front room, but we would like to place pictures there- the couch is directly on this wall. All other walls have nooks (like the TV nook and DVD shelf area) or are part of the railing going downstairs. (No wall) In our dining room, there is no wall space available- as we have our hutch against the one full wall. In our kitchen/ eating area, we have two full walls, but they are facing each other- they are the most remote walls in the house. The only place we can think of is at the end of the hallway leading to the bedrooms. There is a wall that you can see from the entry way at the top of the stairs. We think this is the most ideal place. Is that our only option? No images available. Sorry.

I agree with your assessment, either at the top of a stair well or the end of a hallway seem to be the ideal places for your clock.
When deciding on a final resting place consider, the other items around the wall you want to mount your clock and the nature of the items around. Also consider it the clock is going to be used as a time piece or a decoration primarily. If you plan on using the clock to tell time a convenient place is the better choice by far, if however it is for decoration then the place that has the most impact and fits the best with its surroundings is your goal.
