How much to lower a bathroom sink to be flush with the counter?

Our bathroom sink is a round ceramic bowl that sits right on top of the counter. We want to lower it into the counter, so the top of the sink is level with the countertop. (We keep hitting our heads on the mirror every time we wash our face - the way it's set up is really impractical).

How much would it cost to do that?

Dear Ceramic Bowl Owner,

The cost to move from a ceramic bowl sink to a counter top level sink depends on a variety of things:

-What material is your counter top? If it is a stone counter top (granite, quartz, or marble) - it will have to be removed and taken to a fabrication facility to have the sink hole cut out. If it is a laminate material, it can be cut on site.

-The laminate modification will be the most economical.

-A new sink will be required, depending if you want a top mount or under mount sink (if you have stone counter tops only). The sinks range in price from $49 up.

Hey Christine,

I do not suggest the ceramic sink to be inserted into the counter. The sink is fabricated to be a surface mounted sink and that's the way it should be installed.

To cut a hole in the counter for a new sink and your existing faucet + new plumbing + labor = $125.00

Please note that this price does not include a new sink.
