I was wondering how much it would be to tile my bathroom floor the size of it is 4' x 7'. I got a quote of $575.00 to cement and lay the tiles, also I bought all the supplies for the job to be completed. I'm just wondering if this is a fair price for the amount of work he is doing.

Hi Alyssa

More information is required as to type of tile, condition of subfloor and nature of installation. If you have any concerns, you should obtain 1 or 2 more quotes and obtain references of previous work. Your area is very small and can be done in a day. Please note that when it comes to tiling, quality is very important as any deviation will be obvious

Alyssa,

If all there is to do is lay the tiles and grout them, then the price seems a bit high. If there is additional work in the preparation of the floor, or the toilet is getting re-installed and baseboard is being either re-applied or purchased and supplied, then it is in range or could be a bit low.

To do the job properly, the tiles would have to be laid the first day, given the night to properly dry, and then grouted the next day. It is a 2 day job, but they shouldn't be two full days.

If everything is level and ready to be tiled, and you are supplying all of the materials, including the tiles, grout and mortar, and all that has to be done is the tiling, then $350 - $400 is fair in my opinion.
