We have approx. 29 sq.ft. of backsplash we want tiled. About how much should that cost with a low to medium priced tile?
Install price is approximately $400.00.
You the customer would have to supply tile and grout. Depending on what choice of tile it will be approx. $6 per sq ft . If you are picking a glass tile it can be as high as $15 per sq ft.
That is one reason I always get my customers to buy their own tile.
Thanks,
Richard
I'm probably to far away to do a job like that but will try to explain how a job like that is price.
For starters you might as well have a 100 sq ft of backsplash or 50 ft. The thing that counts it takes just as long to get there for a small job or large. Next still need to have all equipment/tools to do a job large or small. It still takes at least two trips big or small job re drying time and go back to grout and clean.
So, lets say depending on what you have for tile, not that it makers such a big difference for this small amount, still waste a day and a half, so, $400 is the minimum.
Hope this will help you out.
OK,
You have ideas and I would say, as professional installer that labor would run from $6-8 a foot. Tiles mostly buy not china or Lanka tiles. I stick with Italian so is to setting and grouting materials. Field proven!
My choice is MAPEI products, my be more expensive but will not fail, second you need preparation of wall. I use my German made primers. Reason? Your tiles will not slip down after installation.
Cost of good tiles depends how they are made, porcelain tiles are my preference, clay based will absorb more water and kitchen is anything but no water.
Price for tiles will cost you in the range of labor.
Hi,
About $300, but some missing info:
- size of tiles?
- ceramic/ marble/ glass or metal tiles?
- pattern?
- wall ready for tiling?
- how many cuts for filling space under cabinets?
- grout size?
- number of electrical boxes?
All above can affect final price for.
