Marble or ceramic tiles in bathroom

We are thinking of redoing our bathroom. Fell in love with a marble tile.

The people who sell marble say : you just need to seal the floor and you're ok.

The people who sell ceramic say : stay away from marble... it will stain or crack... hairspray, toothpaste, anything will ruin it....

What is a family to do ? It would be for the master bathroom... which is visited by the kids on a daily basis.

Is marble a no no?

Marble can go in a bathroom with no problem. It does have to be sealed periodically, so it's not maintainance free like ceramic. It will stain, especially if it is left to soak in. However I have never seen toothpaste and the like, stain it.

Find a good contractor to install it, there isn'y any wiggle room for errors like ceramic's.

Yes limestone, like most natural stones needs to be sealed as well.
