You may find it more helpfull to post your project on the site. This will likely get more attention than on this section of the handycanadian.com. From, my perspective as a contractor, if you want only on line estimates at this point, it is best to provide as much information as possible such as dimensions, materials etc.

Hi Kay,

Being a 50 year old house, things will be outdated and out square, so I agree that you should post this on the site and have some local contractors meet with you and go over the project in person. You should get a feel for a confident contractor who deals in older home renovations, it is not an easy task to do, unless you are experienced in it. There can be a lot of un foreseen issues, it takes an experienced tradesman to be up front about this.
