Hard wood floor restoration

I would like to remove hard wood floor from livingroom and hallway and have it re-installed. Is this possible? And who can I hire to do this for me?

The flooring would come from livingroom and hallway. I am calculating that there will be enough to have it re-installed in a small bedroom.

It is possible the lift and re-lay hardwood. However if it has been sanded before, it will have to be sanded and finished again after installation. So it would be cheaper to buy new hardwood in this case, unless it's an expensive wood species.

Even if it hasn't been sanded before, with the price of most hardwoods today, it still might be cheaper or the same cost as laying down new wood. Get prices for both options and decide which choice is best.

Almost anyone who installs hardwood should be able to help you.

James is right, the hardwood can be taken up and re used, BUT yes there is always a but when pulling up the old hardwood, depending on thinkness you can have extensive damage as you literally have to pull out every nail and make sure the tounge and groove are still useable. As a contractor that has been there done that I would recommend you buy new hardwood given the prices are fairly reasonable unless you are prepared to spend the day being very carefull lifting the old hardwood and pulling the nails. Good luck
