hello there,

Lately, with all the rain we've been getting - I've been hearing drips and draps coming from my ceiling ... any suggestions on how I should proceed? we just recently had the roof done new ... not sure if this is a roofing issue - or flashing/siding/eaves ... not sure how bad the damage is ... who should I contact? how does this process begin? if the damage is excessive - what would need to be repaired? Would my whole attic need to be redone? I have no ideas and worry how big this job can get as I have a 3 year old in the home ... any input would be greatly appreciated ..

Thanks.

it seems to me that if you just recently had the roof done then you need to call the person that did your roof to start with because that shouldn't have happened! I had this happen to me and it just messed up a part of my attic I had to fix a 5x5 section of my sheet rock and replace the insulation in that area! Also you need to watch out for mold a mildew as this can cause issues with your health. I think the people that caused the issue should have to fix it from my point of view.

If you had your roof replaced recently and is leaking, then you should call the company who did the work. I will assume that the entire roof was repaired, as such it is under warranty and only the contractor who did the work should be the one to repair it. Also there the issue that if someone else does any repairs, this will void the warranty, and the original company wil no longer be liable.

If they refuse or claim additional costs to repair, then you should get someone else, to appriase the repair costs, but do not repair until you have in writing from the original company that the repairs will be done or not. If he still refuses then you may have to seek legal advice.

Hope this helps.
