Hello:
I would like to inspect a 100+ years old house for possible structural issues. There is a crack in the brick wall from the top to the foundation.
What kind of repairs should be done if any?
Thank you,
CF
Hello CF:
Depending on what this crack is like. If it is leaking then you have to do something to reoslve the issue . If it is not leaking and is just shrinakge or something of that nature I'd leave well enough alone. as far as it being strucutral if its been there for a 100 years it will likely be there another 100 so I wouldn't worry about it.

A 100 year old house can have many structural deficiencies. Usually the cost to rectify these properly can be excessive. You should have a qualified experienced contractor or engineer look at the property with you. Your vertical crack sounds like a foundation failure.
