How can I get rid of film on my wood floor that is newly installed. After cleaning with different kinds of wood floor cleaners, I am left with film on the floor that I dont know how to get rid of.
My floor is the type that is already polished, that has like a plastic coating to it.
Also I tried water and vinegar , also didnt work. Please advise me what to do and what kind of mob should i use. thank you for your help.
Hi Hala
I am not sure what kind of film you may have on your newly laid hardwood floor--there should not be anything since there is no finishing of the floor. However, it might be glue like PL 400 that wasn't cleaned off by the installer. I suggest trying to use "goof off" on the spots; there is nothing it cannot take off! Be careful not to use too much and not to wash the floor with it--just a dab on a cloth or paper towel should suffice.
Also, remember not to ever wash your floor with water. The wood will soak up the water and ruin your beautiful floor. You should only dust it with a swiffer sort of mop.
Good Luck!
