Adding a porch to the front of our home

We have a 1989 bungalow 1100 sq feet. Would like to add a porch to the front for curb appeal with a roof of some sort. How much do you think we're looking at? Who should we look at hiring? Deck company, carpenter?

Hi Heidi,

If your goal is to improve the curb appeal of your house, the first person you should hire is an architect. He can give you a design that will be pleasing to your house and the neighborhood. You are going to need the drawings for permitting anyway.

After that, you can hire a carpenter - he should be able to do the footings and build from there.

You can probably put your requirements in the "post your project" section and get some local replies.

Sounds like a fun project.

Good Luck with it.

Hello

I would somewhat agree with the below post about an architect the only problem is you may pay a lot for one.

I have a 3D imaging program that allows me to creat and design all kinds of interior and exterior remodels, if you would like me to make you some designs and get you quotes for each design to be build just email me at

richard@dklandandhome.ca

This way you can have 3 or 4 designs in front of you and pick which one you feel would look the best for you, and it will give you a number to work with.

Thank you

Richard
