I have a project idea that i would like to know if it feasible and cost to extend a basment approximately 15ft X 10ft.

This project would include an enclosed a separate staircase leading from a door (side door) down through existing basement wall. Also an attached open but roofed backyard patio above ground leading from a door (which is currently a kitchen window) from existing kitchen. Door Basement will be a storage area that would require electrical, plumbing and heating.

Hello

Yes it is can be constructed. If it is feasible will depend upon your budget or the amount that you would like to spend on the construction.

If you are thinking of extending the existing basement I would need more information on your project but as a rough budget based on 150 square feet connected to the existing basement my guestimate is that it would run in the range of $30,000 to $42,000 and higher depending upon site conditions. At this stage I am not sure if we must hand dig it or can a machine access the site for the excavation of the foundation. There are too many unknowns to give you a reply.

So to be so vague.

Thank you for the reply.

Digging the whole would not be a problem. I would require removing of a chain link fence from the drive way side, howver the guestimate you gave me is more than double of what I expected for a basement room with stairs, open a window to create a door to patio covered by an awning basement.
