Basement Drywall and Insulation

I understand you are located in Cambridge,ON. Details about your project are very important before somebody will give you a price. A professional contractor or company that provides this services, should give you a price based on a total sqft of the actual surface that needs to be insulated and boarded.

Heads up. Stay away from charges by the hour. Unfortunately our company is located on a different province and prices will vary.

Drywall supplied, installed, and finished will cost you between $1.50-$2.00/sq.f of surface area, insulation and vapour barrier supplied and installed should be between $1.30-$1.60/sq.f of surface area.

Generally speaking - assuming you're talking about just covering the exterior walls that are 8' tall (approx. 1120 total surface sq ft):

R12 insulation, vapour barrier & sealing (not including spray foam between the joist ends), 1/2" drywall (taped, sanded to finish). This should be approx. $3.80/sq ft total - which equals $4256.

As Catalin mentioned, there are many variables to consider but this is something for you to work with.

Hi there,

The cost for Drywall installation and finishing in your area is roughly $2 - $2.25 per sqft of wall and ceiling space. (measure the length of all walls to be drywalled and multiply by the height of your ceiling then add the ceiling square footage)

The cost for insulation (R14) and vapor barrier installation is around $1.50 per sqft of wall space.
