How much would it cost appox. to do a basement renovation?

I would like to finish only a section of which is 500 square feet. I'm assuming I need a sub floor then Laminate floors? 1/2 installation, walls, and ceiling and paint. Possibly some pot lighting?

Thank-you

Count on $70-$100 per pot light depending on quality, amount of switching necessary, panel runs, etc.

Normally pots are placed within 5' of walls and 5' apart, so if you have a room 20x20, 4 or 6 lights would be standard to light the room.

Done properly they average $40-65 sqft. You will find some for $25 sqft, but you will be cold and the quality is not there.

It can variate depending on materials chosen but, yes around 40-45 per square for an immaculate job.

The total expenditure in the complete basement will charge too high..It will be around 50-60$ sq ft. But along with this it depends on the fact that what type of material quality you want to use...You desire for the perfect high standard or just a simple ambience...?????

Good evening Tanya,

Always best to get a few quotes from qualified contractors.

Also if your are adding walls to the space you require Building Permits which your contractor can take care of for you. Permits protect you the home owner to ensure the project was completed properly and helps with future sale of your home to potential buyers.

Thanks,

Dave
