How much does it cost to install a concrete driveway?
For a concrete driveway, it involves three stages. Firstly is the prep, that is stripping, grading, leveling, possibly tamping, filling, re-grading, with slope, then tamping. (or possibly taking up the old surface and disposing of it). Secondly is to form the driveway. Third is the actual pouring and finishing of the slab. This can be done with either a smooth finish (not rec), a broom finish, an exposed aggregate finish or a stamped finish. After the driveway is cured, I would suggest putting 2 coats of a low sheen sealer (good quality) on the driveway. This will protect it against winter salt and also from oil dripping from the car.
The concrete (min 28 mpa with fibreglass reinforcement) is approx $180 per cubic metre where we are. The finishes (not the stamp) will cost about $1.25 to $1.50 per square foot. Depending on the prep that has to be done, it will vary greatly. Phone your local concrete distributor for reputable concrete finishers in your area, and they will refer you for quotes to your specific situation.
