I am going to inherit a very very run down bungalow in a neighbourhood that prices go up to 3 million. How much to update the house to a 2 story ?

There is a lot of factor that would involve with how much it would cost.
- Where is this located?
- What are exterior and interior finishes are you going with?
- What are you looking for with the update the house . What do you want to see with the update?
- Are you renovating this yourself as the contractor or hiring a general contractor.
- How much is this Sq Ft is this property?

Hi Danny,
Cost for any renovation always varies depending on finishes and a few other factors. In the past we have complete full home gut & rebuilds (with minor structural work) for between $150k-$250k.
The higher end was a 3,000sf home which included 4 bathrooms, kitchen and grand room.

It will cost you between $150 to $300 per square foot, depending on quality of material and condition of existing first floor and foundation.

there is a lot of factor will be affecting the price of the renovation such as the location of the house, the size, how many kitchens & bathrooms in the house, what type of fixtures, what type of floor, how old is the house, if you need any electrical or HVAC upgrades, if there is ant structural work required, if you need to replace doors & windows,....etc. A very rough budget for such project $200 K - $400 k

It is a very vague question that required more details. Same like asking how much will cost me a new 4 door car: you can buy it for $20,000 or you can buy it for $200,000
How many square feet is the house?
What kind of renovation it needs?
Do you want to upgrade services?
Is it complete demo or partial?
It could cost $200 sq ft or $500 sq ft
