Cost of adding stairs to basement

I have a side entrance into a mudroom at main floor, I would like to convert the mudroom (or part of it) into stairs down to the basement to make the basement an income unit with it's own separate entrance.
Is that possible? what is the cost range here ? I know it depends but I am looking for a rough ballpark here.

Yes this is possible. Your probably looking at some where between $25k - $35k depends on many factors. I would get some professional drawings done up. This may cost you about
$1,200 - $1,600 to start and then invite Contractors to come and give you Estimates
based on thoughs drawings.

It all starts with stamped engineer drawings. From there you could post more details to get a more accurate range in your area.
