I would like to make a new washroom in my basement. This will include redoing some plumbing and making a closet inside the washroom for the hot water tanks. Approximate size of the washroom will be 12x12. It will be a full washroom with a shower, not a tub and will have washer and dryer inside as well.

Please give an approximate ball park price of what I should be looking at?

Hammad,

As you can see I am a long way from MTL., but the costs are similar. A lot depends on what is already in place, how much re-structuring is involved, location of drains, venting, water lines, doors, windows, etc.

The labour alone should be $3000 - $5000, based on what you describe but could be more. Also, your choice of fixtures make a big difference in the over-all cost. BUT ... don't go cheap to save a few dollars, is isn't worth it.

I hope it gives you an idea of what to expect.

You're probably looking at around $10,000 finshed.

The ball park price for such size and requirements for the basement full bathroom renovation (materials & labor) is $8000 - $10000.

Thanks

Hello!! Sounds like you have gotten a good idea of pricing.

I must agree one of the most important part of hiring a contractor is not how cheap can you get it done. More important is that you get the best man and crew for the job.

GET REFERENCES. That what I love about working with Trusted Pros. You can see who you are dealing with by past history.

$10,000 is a good budget.

Good Luck,

David

Hi,

The range you are looking at is from 7,000.00 to 12.000.00.

The factors that effect the price are: Location of existing stacks, drains and distance to pipes in the concrete floor.

Breaking up a couple of feet of concrete to move a tiolet drain or tub/shower is about 500.00. To move it twelve feet would run about 1,000.00. Ease of running exhaust venting out of the new area. Electrical runs. And big ones are your choice and sizes of tile, the tub and or shower.

Are you going to have custom glass walls installed?...this one can run from 1,200.00 to 1,600.00. Your tiolet choice, vanity, mirrors, lighting. The list goes on.

Hope that helps.
