We have an unfinished basement that is ready for drywall. Our home is approximately 1500 sq ft. Ball park idea of what it would cost to put up drywall and plaster?
The basement has 3 rooms. The laundry room, two piece bath and rec room. The rec room is the largest and requires drywall. Laundry room is being left exposed and two piece bath is done already.
Hi there,
So what is the exact square footage of what needs to be done and is there anyway you can send me a picture or so your whole house is 1500 ft. so what would that area be 500 ?
It would be more helpfull to give the area size of the room you need finished rather than the overall house size . Most trades people would give you a price based on the number of sheets you require to be installed. And you dont mention framing , did you do it , does it need to be done?. Most contractors would prefere to see the framing and how it was errected before they would quote you a price to cover it .
As the two previous contractors mentioned there are some variables that we do not know as of yet. I am assuming that electrical and framing has all been done, but I personally would want to see the framing before giving a quote as that could play a role in how hard it is to board the basement, also an idea of square footage for the space that needs to be completed as well would help, that being both walls and ceiling of course. Typically to have drywall installed and taped with the contractor supplying the material you are looking in the $2/sq ft range assuming that there is easy access to the basement to get the material up and down as well, and that price is probably on the lower end of things as well.
Dry wall $ 1,50 psqf and plaster $ 1,50 psqf labor only.
