Cost to replace panel with 200 amp service

I have mixed wiring in my home. The panel appears to have wires in it that don't do anything or go anywhere. I'd like to also upgrade my panel to 200 amp service.
What is a reasonable cost to have the panel upgraded to 200 amp service and the wires checked and those that aren't doing anything pulled?
I understand the switch can be done without turning the power off and involving the electrical company?

Cost of replacing and upgrading your panel depends on many factors and the governing hydro.
A permit WILL BE required AND the main power disconnected at the meter. Anyone doing it without a permit and with disconnecting would be working illegally and could be fined. The power at teh meter is enough to kill them as the fuses at the pole are quite large for the incoming wires.
Licensed electrical contractors have rules to follow and permits to apply for. If someone tells you that you do not need a permit, I would ask to see their licenses and company insurance to make sure they are qualified.
A 200 amp OH service costs +/- $2000.
