I have to quote installation of 175 sheets of drywall in basement (sheets delivered and payed by customer).
Basement is 8 ft high ceiling, 4 rooms with bulkheads in each room.
I do not want to go low but also not overprice it as I need to get this job.
What would be accurate charge for sq foot?
175 sheets x 32sqft = 5,600 sqft of drywall
My calculation is $9,500
Peter, who is supplying tape, mud and corner bead, I hope the customer is or you might be a little low
:-( I do supply it all, tape and mud and corners...
Hi like Mark said who is supply the screws, corner beads, mud and tape and sand paper if you are you price is way to low. And your prices will have to be base on the bulkheads. But I would say not less. $3 per Sqft
For labour only $2.75 per square that includes drywall installation and taping ready for prime/paint.
Most drywall companies will charge anywhere is from $2.60 a square foot to $3.50 a square foot for labour for installing drywall taping sanding ready for paint.
So for my calculations your price is too low. I highly recommend you call a trusted Pro drywall contractor in your local area to get a firm quote since every project is different. Good luck Jeff
Three things to consider on any job with any reputable company is how much, speed and workmanship. You need to first assess your needs in terms of availability bcs most reputable companies stay busy all year round and certain times throughout the year can be more expensive then others if we are booked. If you want speed and workmanship by bringing in a larger crew the cost is going to be high, if you are looking for cheap(which any professional company is not bcs you pay for the professional experience)and a moderate time frame then the workmanship suffers or it takes forever to complete. Prices vary but idealy you want to build a working relationship with your contractor incase anything out of the ordinary goes wrong without spending more then the job is worth...i.e framing and insulation wasnt done to code or stuff gets missed. Hope this helps
