My bathroom is located on the second floor and the ceiling is comprised of lath & plaster.
Looking for cost right now.
Thanks
Troy,
As you can see I'm in Alberta but can suggest some pricing. You should provide a little more information. (note: a ceiling fan doesn't just move air into the attic, it must be vented to the roof or a side wall. The information required is the roof pitch (standard is 4/12) access to the attic, and any obstacle that might impede an ainstallation. A simple installation is usually about $175.00 but the factors I mentioned can increase that amount.
If you still plan on having it done, do a little research and purchase a proper sized fan and have it properly installed. It's a one time expense and can make a difference in more than just removing a bathroom odour. General air circulation and moisture also enter into the mix.
Good luck with the project.
Regards.
The labor to install a bath fan is around $250. Maybe a little cheaper or a little more based on varying factors. Installation materials are extra - usually around $100.
Please be advised that a proper installation requires insulated rigid ducting through the wall or roof. Also be sure to calculate the cubic feet of the room and match the fan to the air movement required. You want the fan to exchange the air in the room every 3-5 minutes.
For an 8 x 10 bathroom with 8' ceiling = 8 x 10 x 8 = 640 cu ft.
Divide by 3 and 5 = 138 CFM minumum or 213 CFM ideally.
Hope this helps.
I can do job like that for $ 600 all include.
