Hi Jaimee, tough question to answer without seeing your situation. In general, I have taken anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to install an exhaust fan, and it depends on a lot of factors like access, existing electrical, duct length and routing, required repairs, etc.

James is correct, you should put your requirements in the "post your projects" section so local contractors / handymen can have a look and give you an estimate.

Hi Jamiee,

The folks here are correct in suggesting that you post your project and entertain site visits and estimates from a selection of those that reply to your post. We wish we could help you with some preliminary cost estimates but unfortunately there are many variables involved which are best assessed with a site visit. They would then be able to provide you with a more accurate assessment.

The biggest issues are 1)running power to the unit and a switch 2)how to exhaust the unit ie whether there is a clear joist run or are they in the way and a bulkhead is required 3) what is involved in boring throught the exterior for venting and 4) what repairs are required (drywall patching and painting). As Jim suggested it can be a simple 2 hour installation or more complicated and require most of the day to install and repair.
