Hi There,
I recently bought a house in Brampton which has a Basement with a 3 piece washroom and a finished hall with pot lights.
I am planning to add a separate entrance to basement, a kitchen and a room so that basement can be given on rent.
The basement area is around 500 sqft.
How much it going to cost for the said requirement.
Architect fees for design (I know City fees is standard around 1200$) and then cost to built separate entrance by digging the ground.
How long does it take to renovate a basement ?
All together including material and labour side entrance $75,000+hst -billa Surjit
Hi there.
It's very hard to give a price on a project like this without looking at the job. We would like to see the basement and give you an accurate price.
Thanks.

Hello
It is hard to determine cost without seeing the project. And we need to define the scope of work to know where to start. These renovation usually have blind spot like breaking some dry wall to add new lightning for the new staircase etc.

Hello Anurag,
To renovate 500sq.ft basement for me as usual, roughly it takes up to three weeks for price needs site visit. Separate entrance for the basement should be up to two weeks and price varies $20-$35 for per square footage.
Legal basement to meet compliance will require:
-separate heating system (new furnace or cheaper is HRV+electric baseboard)
-bedroom window must meet egress 545 sq/in opening
-kitchen and bath exhaust fans 4"-8" depending on your current codes (check the local planning/dev.) -same with a dedicated parking stall "on" property
500sqft gut and redo with a exterior well entrance to code will be from at least $60,000-$75,000 done right...if some or all of the above is existing then you can drop up to $15 grand off that
