What should the following costs be around if i choose a contractor to build:

1) 22ft x 28ft cement slap with at least a 6 inch overlap for the garage walls to rest on so that the walls are not in contact with the ground.

2) a new 2 door garage or a large single door garage 22ft x 28ft

I have noticed that there are any garage kits from such places as Cabannos Foutaine so i'm interested in seeing what the prices are from private contractors.

The location of the project would be in Glengarry Ontario.

Attached is a sample of the garage I would like to have.

The garage walls would not rest on the slab floor, you would need to dig down and pour footings then your walls rest on those. Once the footings are in and the walls are up you would pour the cement floor.

As far as a cost for the one in the picture, $25,000.00 and $35,000.00 but keep in mind that, that is a ball park figure only.

Building a garage you should budget around $50 per sq ft for a standard build, $65 for upgraded

Then you have to budget for electrics, windows, insulation etc. and any other upgrades. Also your permit fees, and drawings.

If you are planning on building a garage call lumber stores see if they have any doors or windows that are on sale, then you can incorporate them into your design, this will allow you to save a bit of money.

Two ways you can build a garage on floating slab or with a foundation, the option is yours. We have built both ways.

Please note that the 22 x 25 garage KIT in the picture of my post is from Cabannos Foutaine. I have received quotes as low as 12000 installed and up to 18300 installed. This does not include the cement slab/flooring.

Thank you all for your feedback.

Well, slab is around 8 bucks per square foot and excavation would cost a couple thousands with no extra conditions. So just on this part you're looking at around 7k plus tax.
