I have a wood stove in my basement that sits on a brick base. I would like the woodstove to be removed along with the brick base and would need the chimney capped.
I would need the stove, bricks and everything that goes along with it hauled away.
What kind of cost are we looking at for a job like this?
If you post some pictures that would help in giving you more idea. Inside , out side, surroundings etc.
How big is the area?
Is there a direct excess to the basement or windows big enough to pass bricks through? To haul away garbage.
Would you take down the chimney out side ? Patch with plywood and then with matching shingles etc.
I need to see the job to give you an exact idea.
Without knowing more details of issues that could be involved it is difficult to provide an exact figure. However, as a rough and general idea:
$50 ish for dump fee
$20 ish for mortar to cap chimney using the scrap bricks from the stove base.
$200 for the guys time to demolish
$170 for the guy to cap chimney
These are west coast figures and for your area the pricing ranges could be different depending on localized costs.
