Our home was built in the early 60's and the previous owners threw the basement together without priority to space. There is a tiny bathroom that needs a new shower put in and we would like it larger if possible. We are also looking at replacing the ugly old ceiling and absolutely redoing the carpet.
I need a foot of 1/2 my basement walls cut up, dried, drywalled, painted, baseboards replaced, carpet stripped and replaced, laminate floor in bathroom stripped and replaced and large tile floor in upstairs bathroom replaced
Basement rooms - ~13x9 , 10x10, 5x8
Upstairs room - ~8x3

Ours is a 2-storey apartment style condo, constructed in 1985.
We want to renovate a 1/2 bathroom - approx 25 sq ft ceramic tile floor, new vanity with cultured marble top; new toilet. Painting may be contracted - or done ourselves - depending on cost.
Based on our satisfaction with the work done we also have a larger bathroom (approx 40 sq ft) that requires the same work.
Finish a small basement at a newer build (2018) in Bridgwater Lakes. Area is less than 700 sq.ft. Plumbing is roughed in already for a 3 pc bathroom. Basement is insulated and vapor barriered. High ceilings (10ft). We own the home.
Requirements:
1) Would like to complete the bathroom per the attached schematic.
2) Would like to add 1 bedroom/office in the NW corner
3) Would like to close in the washer/dryer and furnace/water heater in a utility room
4) Create a small storage closet/space under the stairs to hide the sump pit and to maintain the storage space
5) Would need the wiring done per code for the necessary amount of outlets
6) Install the tub/shower surround, toilet and sink in the bathroom
7) Laminate floor installation
8) Drop ceiling and install light fixtures.
All the junk we have down there in the pics will be removed prior to the work.
I am trying to purchase a home to "flip" and in this case, it is a small bungalow (900 sq feet) with a partial crawl space. Basically I am just looking for some advice and an really rough cost estimate to dig a full basement. Obviously the house would have to be lifted, but could this be done and a basement put in for under 20K?
My home was built in 1957. Right now it only has a crawl space. My husband and I would like to put in a basement and need to now pricing and what is all invloved. On the left side of our home the lower beam is starting to fall and our house is starting to drop on that side. I think it is due to the fact that the beam is rotten. Other than that I have not noticed anything else wrong with the house or foundation. We would like to have this project started asap.
-House is three years old
-Foundation area 1008 SQ FT...Future Finished area 802 SQ FT
-We've used Dricore subfloor throughout and framed the washroom, bedroom and furnace room
-Expecting second child in October so basement needs to be complete for that
-Would like a company that provides design input
-Would like: Open concept for tv area and a kids playarea , susp. ceiling and pot lights, engineered wood or carpet on floor (still deciding)
We have an undeveloped open basement (1200 sq ft aprox). There is some insulation with vapor barrier on exterior walls. We are wanting a bedroom, office, storage room, recreation room and full bathroom developed. Drop ceiling and flooring. Floor needs to be leveled. One window will have to be enlarged to meet code for the bedroom. Plumbing will need to be re-routed as it was roughed in too close to the furnace. My husband started this job by putting in some studs and framing door ways however his job situation has changed and he no longer has time to take on such a large project.
Our basement was drywalled many years ago. We would like to complete the project. 3/4 of the basement will be done (approx 1500 sq feet. It includes, one large room, one bedroom, and one closet. The walls need to be mudded, taped and sanded. 3 large basement windows need to be finished with drywall (each window approx 18 inch high by 40 inches wide. The closet in the bedroom will require a small door on the wall (12 x 12 inch) to access the water pipes for the bathroom which is adjacent. The bathroom is already totally complete. 2 doors will also need to be hung. We are doing rounded corners as this is what is on the main floor.
Need flooring, framing, insulating, electrical, plumbing, drywall, trim and painting done for one bedroom, half bath, laundry/utility room and family room. Need four doors and two 2' x 3' windows. Need ceiling drywalled - ceiling only appx 7' high. Need toilet and sink/cabinet for half bath. No concerns - dry concrete basement. House built in early 1920's.
We have purchased a home (10 yrs old), with an unfiinished basement, we would like to add a sm bedroom (9x10), dry bar, rec room, and small storage area (under stairs).
Area has vapour barrier only, and needs dry wall, flooring and paint. We would prefer laminate flooring instead of carpet, a suspended cieling with pot lights, and may need a 2nd window for bedroom area.
We would like to have the project completed by mid to late November if possible. Please contact Vanessa or Alex via email or phone (leave msg if not available)
About 900 square foot basement needs to be completely renovated including removing all existing walls and starting from scratch including updating insulation.
The current wall material is all pannelling.
House is about 50 years old, simple bungalow style.
Currently has bathroom, but I want that renovated as well using easy clean, water repellant materials.
Prefer drywall for the rest of the space.
Very important to have project whenever started, must be completed quickly. (less than one month).
Would like Ceiling tiles in the "living space" Laundry and furnace area not neccesary.
I would like flooring that does not feel cold on feet in the "living space" Laundry and furnace area not neccesary.
I would also like to know if you have the ability to help remove exhisting furniture etc out of the basement and into a POD container for storage during the renovation.
My fiance and I own our house in Winnipeg. It is an 840 Sq Ft. Bungalow built in 1918 with a cinder block foundation.
When we purchased the house in February 2015 the basement was fully complete with a 3 piece bathroom (toilet sink and stand up shower), rec-room, bedroom and laundry/utility room. All newley refinished with no visible signs of any structural, plumbing or major issues.
A month ago I walked into water at 3am after we experienced some rain Which we learnt was caused by our sewer backing up from the catch basin that was hidden under carpet by the previous owners. There was only 2-3 inches of water that backed up and had pooled primarily in the bathroom which was located by the catch basin that was conveniently hidden under carpet.
This incident has led us to the discovery of problem after problem after problem...
We have completely gutted the basement and found the following:
-horizontal cracks running along the entire perimeter of the house in 2 different spots with signs of bowing caused by too much static pressure on the exterior of the house.
-black mold caused by water seeping in from the cracks on the concrete around the entire foundation
-5 windows improperly installed causing water to enter in around the frames
-all plumbing for previous bathroom installed incorrectly. (We currently have a plumbing contractor replacing all the old plumbing and installing a sump pit and main line backwater valve to code with necessary permits)
-grading of the property needs to be done around the entire perimeter of the house as it currently slopes backwards causing water to pool and run all along the foundation and footing
-1 broken weeping tile and possibly another collapsed tile. (We are having the weeping tile, main sewer line and previous plumbing for the downstairs bathroom inspected with a camera tomorrow)
- we need an e-gress window installed with window well for the downstairs basement to be of legal size and meet city fire and building code
-all drywall to be replaced/taped for entire basement including the ceiling
-all new insulation required for the entire basement (preferably spray foam)

My name is Laura and my house was built in 1912 and it has a brick foundation. I'm looking to have the basement finished. It requires insulation and framing and drywall. It is about 600 square feet. I need some different ideas on moisture control ( ie spray foam , vapor barrier ect ) due to the fact it becomes damp.
