Hi, I am looking for a quote to have my basement finished. House built in 2009. Basement is approx. 950sq ft. It needs 2 bed rooms & 1 washroom. Floor plan is already completed. Simple project requires permits, electrical, framing, dry-wall, doors, drop ceiling & bathroom installation (plumbing is roughed in). We DO NOT need painting, flooring or base boards done.
Thanks for your time.
I need basement ceiling drywalled with space for existing pot lights. also need two new bedrooms framed and drywalled. for one of the new bedrooms I need a new egress window cut into the basement wall. total square footage of ceiling drywall approx 1200, two new bedrooms approximately 125- 150 square feet each.
House is new (less than a year old) and basement is ready to be finished. It has about 800sq, already has electrical and drywall in place. The project consists of:
1) adding a 24ft wall + 2 doors to separate the mechanicals from the rest of the basement and drywall on the outside only;
2) enclose the bathroom and drywall on the outside only (bathroom won't be finished in this project);
3) Drywall around the ventilation ducts;
4) Drop-down ceiling in the rest of the basement;
5) Stain the concrete floor.
6) Paint all the walls.
Projected date to start project between May and September/2014.
We need a basement for our new (built 2 yrs ago) home. The home is a cab-over with a fairly sizeable basement area. We need assistance in design ideas. Ideally, would like to keep as open as possible and be able to incorporate areas for 1 small bedroom, a TV/movie viewing area, gaming area (i.e. pool, etc.), space for kids to play and workout machine area. Also would like storage area near furnace and bathroom with shower. Would like the look be to extension of upstairs, maybe "warmer" with some modern flair.
Need a finished basement for my hours (5 years old) the floor plan is attached. Open for design suggestions and making adjustment to the plan.
1: Drop Ceiling
2: LVP flooring
3: Shower in bathroom (no tub as design)
4: Possibility to move laundry in basement from main floor
5: Pot Lights
If possible provide quotes with choices for material/Flooring/Lighting etc.
North End bungalow, the area to be finished is already framed.
My largest concerns are the windows as they are quite high up on the foundation and also the finishing around them. I might be interested in getting them redone as well. Especially given that I want a suspended tile ceiling.
I'll need drywalling and finishing of the drywall done. If the rails for a suspended tile ceiling could be installed - I'll take care of the tiles afterwards.
Please ask questions!
We're looking to finish our basement: To add a half bath (toilet and sink), an office/ bedroom, and the rest will be a rec room.
Our house is only 12 years old, high ceilings, and at least 1200 sq ft. We don't have a big budget and are looking for a reasonable price to complete our project. If you have a proposal, please send us an email
Thank you.

Floorplan will consist of one bedroom, laundry room, one bathroom, open area family room. Frame rooms, wire and plumbing , bathroom will have shower (not tub), subfloor, lighting throughout, gyproc walls, suspended ceiling, 19,000 BTU fireplace,.
Flooring: Laundry Room: Vinyl, Bedroom: Berber Carpet, Bathroom: Porcelain Tile, Open Area Fam Rm: Combination Porcelain Tile & Hardwood. All doors and closets as well. Complete basement development.
We have a relatively new house (built in 1999) and we need to float the walls in the basement. The basement is finished and the walls seems to be floated before, but now the space between the floor and the walls is gone and it creates cracks on the main floor. So, we need to get the non-bearing walls in our basement floated.
-80 year old craftsman style home
-current basement renovated by a DIY owner who cut corners, did the work on the cheap, without regard to building code
-upon owning the home for two days, the hot water tank broke and flooded the basement for 48hours. we have an open insurance claim
-we want to gut the basement to the concrete and start new
assess the foundation, as we have had a small amount of water seepage, which could be due to not having the down spouts in place
WANT LIST or something more.
-Move existing bathroom transform into SPA retreat, replace toilet, vanity, tub and shower with quality materials: 6' tub, separate shower.
-Custom laundry room area to have folding table, built-in rod to hang-dry clothes, built-in cubby to hold 12 laundry baskets, TV and space for ironing. Would like area to be bright and ultra-modern-glass tile accent.
-Storage around perimeter of basement in three places-to hold off season clothing and large plastic tubs. Perhaps behind folding doors or sliding doors.
-Remainder of area to be office space, lounge combo. Ideally the laundry room, office, lounge will be one large room, with distinct areas.
-MECHANICAL: replace furnace and AC, use existing hot water tank.
Depending on cost, would like to replace existing ductwork and move location of furnace.
-Replace existing basement windows.
-Heated bathroom floor
-Some type of basement sub floor to reduce cold
-Also, remove bathtub from second floor batthroom, remove and replace existing ugly tile, install glass shower.(after basement done)
-Small reno in kitchen, remove an upper cabinet, make a breakfast bar between kitchen and dining room wall, move dishwasher and built in oven (second floor duct work requires relocation)
IMPORTANT ITEMS
-Work must be done with a Building Permit to code.
-We have a cabinet maker to manufacture closet + laundry shelves, work desk and bookcases in office, vanity in bathroom.
-Company must provide at least three references, have no outstanding legal claims from previous customers and no BBB complaints.
-would like a company that can provide architect/interior designer/ space planner and blue prints.
-A contractor who has experience in old home reno would be great.
-We are a forty something couple who downsized, moving into an older, well established neighbourhood and plan to remain in this home until retirement.
- Successful contractor will also be considered for exterior work: windows, eaves, fascia, stucco, fence, deck removal, sidewalk/stone patio, landscaping to be completed next year or year after.
-Would like work to commence in at least 6-8 months, but would wait a bit longer for a quality contractor.
-Contractor to also quote insurance claim, in order to ensure that insurance claim is fair; we will then ask for a payout to be applied to our reno
-Demo required fairly soon in order to assess basement for deficiencies and plan project.
-We treat all trades with respect, welcome to use facilities, owners will provide cold drinks. We have three female dogs. Although we will blockade from basement, workers not to be afraid of dogs.
Home is 1300 square feet, approximately 1/2 of the basement is already completed (utility/laundry room, bathroom, & office). Would like to finish remainder - basically want a large open recreation area, so we require electrical, drywall, ?drop ceiling, flooring, etc.
My main concern is to maximize the space of the house, it is a fairly big house, except that the floorplan doesn't make it work that way. There was this used to be a 3rd bedroom that i converted to an entertainment room just because the living room is too small. The kitchen is in between the living and that other 3rd bedroom. I wanted to move the kitchen to the 3rd bedroom, so i can have a bigger living area. The house also has corners which i think is also a waste of space, i wish to add it to the living space. Other minor concerns includes bathroom renovation, putting hardwood floors and finishing the basement.
This part (small) of the basement has concrete floor and studs and vaporbarrier up. The furnace is also part of this area. We have a washer and dryer, old old freezer and a small and very old fridge in this area. It has been roughed in by the builder (Qualico) 16 years ago for a bathroom, but we have never done this. We need this area to be very useable. We would like it to have a laudry room with cupboards (build-in's including an iron space. We would like a little area to have to put storage things (Xmas tree, decorations, an area for out of season clothing and boots and maybe to even put in a toilet and a sink. We need someone with not only the ability to build this but the vision to see the finished product and how we can put a little space to good use. We don't know when we could get this done- but we need to get (free) price estimates so we can budget for this kind of project.
I am planning to build a legal secondary suite in basment which requires separate furnace, HRV and ducting. It also requires separate electrical panel and Hydro meter. Ceiling needs to be sound proof as it requires resilient sound channels and some walls and doors need to be fire rated. The floor needs a sub floor. The suite itself would be around 836 square feet and then there is some extra space that needs to be finished as well about 300 square feet.
I would like to get a quote. I have already obtained the permit from the city. Plumbing and electrical permits would need to be pulled by the contractor. Budget is between $30000-$55000.
We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our house is approximately 780 square feet, give or take, and was built in 1919. Currently we have a partial basement with a dirt crawl space on the other side. The partial basement we have is cinderblock tile and leaks every time we get a hard rain, and we are concerned about what the dirt may be doing for our health.
What we wanted to do was turn out partial/crawlspace basement into a full finished one (we realize this may mean raising our house and being kicked out of it for a little bit). The finished basement would have a bathroom, bedroom and laundry room. In the process of our basement being complete, we would need our chimney (which leads from the basement out of the roof) taken out and the part of the roof replaced where the chimney hole would be.
I have drawings. New plumbing, electrical, walls, insulation both walls and ceiling, flooring, new bathroom, new small kitchen - MUST be completed by June 1.
I have light fixtures, most of the demo is done. I have bathroom sink, toilet, shower, tile for 1/2 the project. I have the full unassembled Ikea kitchen which includes only 4 pieces and countertop. No oven to be installed, range-top only; need vent for that installed. Plumbing for bathroom and kitchen all new. Junk from demo piled in centre of room. Exterior walls need to be framed in bedroom and bathroom. Ceiling in LR/kitchen has to come down for electrical as well as new sound-proof, fire resistant Rockwool and drywalled plus same in B.R. Bathroom (but ceiling and walls have been demolished already.. Big project. Time sensitive. My contractor has "family things" and has abandoned my site. Been renting a 2nd home for 6 months waiting for the job to be done and it's barely started, now I can only hope he will refund what I stupidly paid in advance. I need a contract in writing, GUARANTEED finish date with compensation if not completed. I'M NOT PAYING UNTIL THE JOB IS FINISHED except for supplies which I will accompany you to pay or pay directly.
Need 2 water leaks, plus an old chimney leak, fixed to stop water from coming in. Then need entire basement ripped out and re-done. Right now have panel and ceiling tile (old pressed paper). Just new ceiling and drywall (unless we end up being able to afford to do more. Electrical will likely need to be checked over. Pot lights currently. There is one rec room approximately 18 feet wide by 30 feet long (estimate only), a small - 15 foot long hall, and one small bathroom area that will need to be done. All panel and existing ceiling to be removed in all areas of basement. 3 small windows (in wells) to be replaced. I need an estimate as quickly as possible. All supplies will be paid for in advance. Please advise if you are able to quote asap. Need this job done before end of July if at all possible. Sooner would be better.
I need a basement for my mom's old house, this is a story an a half build in the 40's and it has a 3/4 basement which the retention walls are giving up and every spring gets water. I want to have an estimate for the construction of a new basement of aproximately 600 sf. I much appreciate you can let me know how much it would cost.
thank you.
Need estimate (free) on completing the basement of my house (new; 3-yrs, 1400 sq ft). There is a plan showing the room locations. Insulation and vapor barrier in place; bathroom connections roughed in. Planning to do the work next year but wanted to get an idea about the cost/options now. Requesting quotes from licensed and fully insured contractors.
We would like a bedroom and bathroom built into the basement. The area is now a storage room - cement floor and walls. Shower, toilet and sink with vanity and wall mirror cabinet -- flouring, dry-wall, electrical, lighting, ventilation, tile and prep all for painting (we will paint). Walled in, as well as walling in a bedroom space.
