My Hot Tub is sunken into my back yard deck. I would like some help to lift it out and move it to a new location. I will need some old deck (5 years) removed and replaced, and some new deck built on to it. I will also need a new base for the hot tub to be placed on in its new location (prefer concrete over compacted gravel).
Interlocking brick patio with overhead trellis
An extension is needed onto an existing interlocking brick patio, along the back side of a house. The extension for the new patio measures 16 x 15 feet on an already gravel base. The area would be developed into a courtyard setting with a trellis structure covering the new portion of the interlocking brick patio. Anchoring of six posts would be needed to support the overhead trellis cover with privacy lattice between the posts, except for the area leaving the old interlocking patio onto the new interlocking patio.
Owner is looking for estimates for spring, April 2007.
Our deck / sunroom has had a pile in 1 corner that has dropped by about 1", just enough to throw off the proper operation of the door and widows. This corner has a post on it that helps support a large overhang of the roof.
We are looking for someone who can jack up the sunroom, level it off and insert an appropriate wedge.
The home is a 7 year old bungalow and the deck sits about 3' off the ground.
I have a new home and want to build a by level deck , I want it to be built out of pressure treated green.there is a 2\8 strapped to the home already it is 15.0 ft long I want the top part of the deck to be 15.0. \7.0 ft then go down 2 steps the full length of my deck to the next landing 15.0/12.0 ft Then about a 3.0 ft wide stair case to the ground level . I will need a railing around the whole deck. The height off the ground to the 2/8 that is strapped to the home is 42inches.
Please give me a roughy estamate for a cost so I know roughly what I am looking at for cost.
Looking to build a deck soon, and I have a design in mind that will be about 500 sq feet. I’d prefer Fiberon, Timbertech, or Azek (pretty much any composite material but Trex?) and I’m really trying to keep the costs down (thus, I have sketched out a design I’d like to use). The deck would be on two levels - a small top level, and a larger lower level, totaling about 500 square feet. The lower level does not need railing (under 24” high) but I do want the whole top and bottom deck clad (is that the right term for not open underneath?) I’m willing to complete the deck in a window that fits the builder, if it would save some of the budget (I’m not in a mad rush, but I could do it next week, too).
I have no idea how much this should cost, installed. I also want to be sure I’m dealing with a reputable builder who can provide a warranty on the install. Finally, I’d want the builder to supply the permit (my design works with the bylaws)
I am lookiing to have an old deck taken down and replaced with a more user friendly deck. The house is a split so stairs are involved. There is a school playground behind the house so would like the main part of the deck lowered with a platform (maybe with enough space) for a bbq at the door entrance level. I would like to keep the price to as close to $5,000 as possible.
I currently have a 7x10' elevated deck (about 5'), with stairs leading down. I would like to re-build a deck but with a lower level as the main level. The deck can be bigger. I am looking at a budget of $5000 or so. I am looking for a spring build but would consider a fall build.
Just built a new house in Kildonan green development and do not have the time to do this myself because of my occupation. Looking for a good reliable contractor to complete my project by the due date(June1st) with no flaws. The dimentions of the property are as follows.......118' x 145' x 95' across the back(pie shape). The two teir deck will cover across the whole width of the house and will also be enclosed with a hot tub encased on one of the teirs, width of house is exactly 34'-0" with a 1'-8" jut out. The fence will cover the whole back yard dimentions will be the standard 6' height with a 6" board underneith and 4x4x10' treated posts extending every 6 or 8 feet across with buried in the ground 2-4 feet which ever the preference. Looking forward to your replies. Mike
My old steps are a safety hazard. They are too steep and the rail cannot possibly be to code. They are also falling apart. I'm in a split level side by side and the exterior door is over half a story above grade. There is a wooden screened in porch built off the back of the house which has a "shed" under it. The stairs currently run next to the shed, but I'd prefer a little bit of a deck between the porch and the steps, if I can afford it. :) I'm not sure how much this will cost, and I am looking for function over fashion. I prefer everything to be to code and workers should be insured.
I own an older home (120 yrs old) and I would like to change the front entrance, make it bigger, include a wheelchair ramp wirth a new porch.
Older victorian home. would like to keep the victorian look as much as possible. Wondering what an estimated cost for a project like this would be.
Thanks.
Marie
House is aprox. 100 years old and fence as well as stairs have rotted. need possibly new gate as I'm not sure it can be salvaged. The length of fence involved is aprox. 20 feet.
The stairs need to be replaced completely. they are a very simple design to be used to go in either direction and are simply a platform with one step on each side.
I am looking for an accurate quote for this project. Thank you.
12 by 16 foot shingled three sided addition for sun/screen room outside on concrete pad. House was built in 1960's. Sliding patio door to inside already exists. outside of house is siding and would like that removed in the sunroom section and some kind of decorative rock applied. Would like a nice wood exterior possible cedar. Am also looking to build a wood deck of the sunroom would like it to be raised few feet off ground with stairs leading up and approx size 16 by 20. Would like deck to be cedar. Under where we would like our deck is currently grass. Our home is located in st adolphe, mb
Heya,
So I'm buying a new house, and once I get possession on Aug 1st, I will need some stairs built that go up to a balcony on the second floor.
Would like to get that started right away, and I'm pretty sure stairs don't take that long to put in.
Would be able to meet and get an estimate on the cost in the first week of Aug, and then would want work to start right away.
I'd like them to be built for sure by the time Sept 1st arrives, so if you can't guarantee that they will be done by then, then there's no point in responding.
Also, the estimate might include redoing the balcony that already exists, but that will depend on cost.
Thanks!
The 27 foot round pool is up and running and now we need the deck complete. There will be a 20 x 20 raised (approx 55 inches high) attached deck to the house with an adjoinging octagon deck surrounding the pool, with a larger lounging area to one side of the pool. The deck will be surrounded with tempered glass to be used as a wind barrier. We estimate that the deck will likely be 1000 sq. feet. We live on 2.5 acres and currently have no obstructions in the back yard.
We just purchased a home, I need an estimate to present to the bank with our offer to purchase (on or before Tuesday Feb 8). Work would then be completed within 120 days of April 1st. We would like new cupboard doors (approximately 15), new counter top (laminate), tiles behind the counterspace, new fridge, stove and portable dishwasher. Budget $5000
We would also like an estimate for a deck (to be completed in the future/separate budget).
The house was built in 1912 and is in good condition except for this concern: It is a 2 storey house with a back porch that extends to the second floor. The porch is sinking and slipping away from the house slightly on the second storey. Porch needs to be raised and better supported. There is on or two teleposts under the porch foundation at present. Perhaps it needs piles. I need an assessment and recommendation from someone with expertise in this work. It cannot likely be done before winter, but I want to begin planning. Thyank you.
I have a deck that is attached to my house, it is as old as the house (24-25yrs)
I would like to replace it, remove a hot tub in the deck. The boards are past their prime.
Roughly 16X 24 feet. Would like to keep the same floor layout if that is an option to keep the price lower. I have wood railings now but will consider options of other designs.
Probably a treated wood deck.
I am the owner of the property
1 - Repair or build over concrete steps
2 - Build deck over steps, continuing along side of house & connecting to existing deck
3 - Build a "sun room" or other small structure on existing deck to provide shade
4 - Assistance with permits & meeting any legal requirements
5 - Widen concrete sidewalk
6 - Widen concrete patio
7 - Design for eventual garage
Located in River Heights, Queenston at Grant.
Budget is flexible based on what we want done (i.e. I assume this full list will require over $20K)
The deck is 8ft by 14 1/2 ft. It sits on two concrete jut outs that are attached to the house.
The intent is to have the deck space extended out to 11 ft instead of the original foot print of 8 ft and still be 14 1/2 feet long. Would also prefer to have the deck lowered considerably so that the see thru roof can slope without making the space too cramped looking.
The room would be screened in.
The house is a full 2 story around 100 years old with a 2 story veranda in the front.
Remove concrete stairs - 6 steps approx 7 ft wide, 3 1/2 ft at tallest, 61/2 ft length. Replace with pressure treated stairs and railing. Area behind stairs requires tong and groove 6 ft x approx 3 ft wall to close off crawl space below veranda. Also inspect the veranda foundation and shore up where needed. The veranda has 4 main posts which provide the foundation.
