Home Extension. I am looking at adding an additional 400sqft to my 1200sft bungalow home. The house has a large yard that can accommodate the extension. I will like to have an extended kitchen with dining space in the area with a masters bedroom with in suite toilet and work in closet. Also a crawl space for the extension.
Also to have the asphalt in the driveway redone.
I am interested in adding a 800 square foot (2 story) addition to a story and a half house, and a new roof to cover 1800square feet. I'm not sure exactly what \i need to start with paper wise (server certificate, permits, etc.), and would like to do the interior myself. Can you please provide some information regarding building the roof and exterior wall, with a crude price on said work?
Thanks
We wish to add 10 additional feet to one end of our 24 ft. wide home. This is a 1945 built 13/4 story house in River Heights. The idea is to add 10 additional feet to the kitchen end but to include the upstairs and the basement. This would be approximately 500 additional feet on two different levels and the 240 extra feet of basement. We would like this work to be done in the spring of 2013 with a start date in late April or the first of May.
We are thinking of making an addition to our house.
Our house is currently a 2 bedroom bungalow. There are 2 bedrooms at the back of the house with a bathroom in between. In the middle of the house is formal dining room with a patio door to the deck and a kitchen. The front of the house is the living room.
We could like to add another bedroom (perhaps a master with an ensuite bathroom).
I own a bungalow house in St. Norbert. I would like to add 90 square feet on the back of the house to make a room bigger, add a 3 season (possibly the extended 3 season) sunroom to the side of the house (209 square feet) and then add a deck going around the house joining the two additions. I have attached a picture to scale. 1 dot = 1 foot. The hydro meter would have to be moved and there are 2 basement windows I am unsure of what the possibilities are.
This project includes construction of a new house addition and exterior re-finishing of the existing house as per attached Construction Drawings.
Addition:
Foundation: grade beam on piles. Floor: reinforced slab-on-grade. Walls: 2"x6" studs, insulation, v/b, GWB. Roof: pre-fabricated trusses and cut-in place rafters. Exterior Finish: stucco and brick veneer. Electrical work is required.
The tender closing date is April 27, 2015 at 14:00 CDT.
Construction starting date is anticipated at the middle/end of May, 2015.
Please submit your detailed quotes via e-mail.
We are looking to put an 32 x 8 addition on the back of our house, to extend our kitchen and master bedroom. We would need everything including by not limited to:
concrete base, wood framing, stucco, soffets, facia, evestrough, kitchen cabinetrty, including a pantry, counter tops, drywall, new flooring for the kitchen and bedroom, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Addition on home bulit by Qualico homes in 1978.
If someone would like to come out to give an estimate, please contact us via telephone
We have a mid 80's 1065 3 level split with an attached 15x23' garage and need more space for bedrooms. Considering our layout going above the garage seems like the most logical choice but are certainly open to other suggestions. Our budget for this project is about $10,000. We live in Lakeside Meadows, current home value about $240,000.
I am looking into the possibility of adding an addition to our house with the main goal of expanding the kitchen.
I'm wondering if we would be able to move the stairs from the middle of the house and build them outside the existing foundation and cut a new entrance way into the basement. There is approximately 8 feet between our house and the neighbour's property line. I believe the area allows 4 feet between building and property line.
I've attached a sketch with rough dimensions. The red dashed line is the existing footprint and the solid black would be the final dimensions.
Thanks
What I need is someone to create a Raised floor to accomadate such an addition, see theclick here I may want the external shell framed and the roof put on, but not shingled. This is to be attached to my existing home(Approx 22' wall to attach to)I have not yet decided on this. Ideally, my timeframe would be sometime this summer or early fall. Thank you. Bil
Hello,
I reside in a single detached one story house.
I am looking to extend my kitchen by 16 feet into the backyard and keep the same width of the home that it currently is, with an enclosed pantry room. I would like to add two bedrooms above the new kitchen on a second story with a bathroom and possibly develop the attic area into a master bedroom, depending on price. I will need to upgrade all plumbing which services my kitchen sink and bathroom on the main level, upgrade my electrical (though I have an upgraded panel) and need to improve the basement stairs, basement entrance (which currently has a door in the floor to access the basement) and possibly make the entrance larger (as it is about 20" in width now and unable to accommodate modern washing or drying appliances).
Currently, I have a poorly designed addition coming off my kitchen that measures roughly 11ft x 12ft that needs to be demolished before any work can be done. In the new extended kitchen I will require new flooring, cabinets and counter-tops.
I was wondering if you would be able to provide for me a quote on these renovations. Turning the attic into a Master bedroom is a low priority, so if possible, could I get one quote with the attic renovation and one quote without it? I assume that it may require you to visit the job site to assess the current structure and location. If so, I have a fairly flexible schedule and either myself or my boyfriend will be able to assist with this.
Sincerely,
Madelaine
We are looking to put a small addition onto our house and garage. we have a 2.5 story house with a 2 story addition on the back, all with full basement. There is a double garage attached to the back wall of the addition. The addition is narrower than the main doy of the hosue. We want to expand the basement and main floor portions of the addition to come out to the edge of the house on one side. The expansion will be about 8 x 13 feet and we want to remove teh existing wlls in the basement and main floor so the expansion will be open to the rest of the space. We also want to expand that side of the garage to also come out as far as that side of the house to provide extra storage and a mud room between the garage and the new extension of the addition. The garage expansion is about 9 x 21 feet.
Need an addition on the side of the house. We are the home owners.
Approximately 175x127 inches
needs a light fixture in the ceiling
Will have a closet and locker style cubbies (see attached image for sample)
The rear will have a man door
We are undecided if the front will have a man door or just a window
The area will stretch from behind the non-functional chimney to just past the existing door.
The window will remain and open into the addition.
We need to ensure that the area is sufficiently heated
Will need to have appropriate flooring installed
We are not sure how the roof of the addition will look.
See images for more details
I have an old house build in 1914 in the west end. It is very well maintained and I need my old mudroom demolished and replaced by a 10x10 addition. I will required professional engineering and city permit. It has to have a proper foundation and I am very open to a good design as long as it feels open with lots of windows. I will be happy with one floor but a second floor will be considered. In the future, I will also need a new garage and my front porch enclosed.
House is 60 yrs old. 2nd story addition done 30 yrs ago.
Wish to add 30' X 14' (Sun-space i.e. minimum 50% high efficency windows, fully insulate and extend furnace venting into addition along with Space heaters. Requires relocation of existing 3 season sunroom and removal of small breakfast nook.
Addition would include kitchen Pantry (roughed in) re-routing of stove (exhaust) fan and installing bathroom fan, integrating existing bathroom window into design. (Fill in hole or use glass blocks - designer's input greatly appreciated. Wish interior space to be open and yet use lighting to create three distinct areas. Renovate closet bank (single space devided into 3 closets) off main support wall, remove and reconfigure with existing bedroom to make larger bed-room with single closet.
Also wish to erect 20' x 20' 2 car garage 1 extra-wide door, power-supply for arc welder, compressor and space heaters.
Am Direct-Buy member, and would purchase Windows, Flooring and other materials prior to project start up. Would consider adding basement beneath addition and joining to existing basement as well, if cost is not prohibitive. All materials and designs would need to meet required building codes, CSA approved.
We would like to add on to the rear of our home. Are looking for either a second washroom, bigger kitchen and either a large familly room, or 1 - 2 bedrooms( Master possibly). Looking for estimates for the addition with a full basement addition and one with just a crawlspace. If your company would be interested in this project please email me to go over details and set up a time for an appointment.
House is a basic bungalow in Windsor park with ample space to allow addition. House is about 50 years old.
If you would like pictures of site and back of house please let me know.
thank you.

I am purchasing a +/-900 sq/ft home in Norwood and would like to raise the roof to make a full second storey with 8 foot interior walls. There are currently 2 bedrooms and a small bathroom on the second storey which I will remove, including the plaster and lathe on the ceiling, prior to the work of raising the roof. I would like the contractor to; fill in the existing window cutouts, remove two dormers and finish holes ( rafters, roof decking, paper, shingles, etc.), raise the roof, install 2x6 walls, exterior sheathing, four window cutouts, tyvec or comparable exterior wrap, and obtain all permits. All work must meet code and be performed in a professional, timely and safe manner. I understand you need to see the site to give an estimate, please do your best to give a reasonably accurate one here. Work would begin the first or second week of July, 2016.
Thank you for your time.
I'm looking for 2 quotes. option A and option B
option A - add an addition above our garage (like a cab-over design), would need plumbing up there as well, for a 2 piece bathroom. (other work would need to be done in terms of creating stairs up to that room)
Option B - creating a second story on the back 1/2 of the house, for 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. (with shower). approx 600 sq ft? (our full house is 1250)
Current attached single car garage, being converted to living space with second level added on top. Additional level of aprox. 250 sq ft added on top of existing 22x12garage frame. Simple scalp of existing garage trusses, add second level, then reuse trusses as garage slope will remain the same.
2x6frame required for new addition. Roofline will sit approx 2ft above existing two stores house roofline, so it will not tie in. Elictric in garage already wired. Engineer approved drawings already complete.
Would like an estimate if the demo of the existing garage roof is and is not included.
Thanks
Bryan
