I need quotes ASAP. Looking for trades people who will be committed to this project. I am looking for quality work and people who will stand behind there work.
Hi there,
We live in Halifax and have a small outbuilding roughly 10' X 15' in our back yard. It is less than 10 yrs. old and sits on a concrete slab. We currently use it for yard and garden storage, but would be interested in converting it to an office for myself. There is currently power to the shed (but it would probably need to be upgraded). The interior is roughed in framing and is sided in vinyl. We're looking to have the walls and floor insulated, as well as lighting, heating, electrical and phone installed.
Removing the house from its foundation and raising it 3-4 feet.
The choices are either to dig down and hope the foundation walls are low enough that we dont have to have a 'box' around the basement wall. Or to lift the house up 3-4 feet. The house is over 100 years old the ceiling in the basement is about 5'10 plus vents etc so there are areas that are 5'4. There is about 1250 sqf of liveable area.
My ex husband started renowing our house a few years ago and would only finish 75-80% of a room.
The siding needs to be replaced on the house and back garage.
The front garage which has a concrete roof needs to be fixed because it leaks a lot.
There is one bathroom that needs to be finished and one bedroom out of 4 is completed.
Master bedroom, living room, chimney, basement need to be done the most.
The furnace needs to be replaced.
Mostly cosmetics I'd say...Flooring and drywalling (I hope).
I need to bring an estimate to my lawyer of how much it will cost to get the house back to normal.
1. Sprinkle system at baby sleeping area and play area.
2. Little fence at back yard 600sq
3. In front of house to build something for baby stroller ( for 2* 4 babies)
4. Close between living room and dinning room for play area and sleep area
5. Little renovation for the kitchen and add one fridge for baby food
6. Something for 8 babies clothes ( shelf and hooks)
One sink in the play area for teacher wash hands
1300 square foot
1 1/2 storey residence
house age 32 years
large residential lot in Halifax County
uncertain of materials - need to tear off current 1/2 storey and replace with full second storey consisting of three bedrooms and two baths. Not interested in expensive materials, just sturdy and functional.
Install laundry facilities on first floor
replace flooring throughout first floor with ceramic tile and hardwood laminate
tear down front porch and replace with full length covered deck - would like either treated lumber or pvc/ vinyl decking.
Balcony on top of front deck

A turn of the century house has fallen in to disrepair. Very handy myself but need to stabilize the frame, posts for load bearing wall and needs a new roof with the trim etc. 11 windows 2 doors to be replaced and a garden door to be put in the back. Old huge timber used in the frame, part of which is pulling apart on he floor from a small raise done with the foundation by previous owner. It would also need electrical. The house is small 24x28. The house is located close to brooklyn ns about 60 minutes from Halifax.
We need to remodel the side (second) entrance to our house. The house is about 70 years old, wood construction with hardiplank siding. This requires:
- installing a new exterior door
- rebuilding the landing / steps
- adding a small roof / covering over the door (including a light)
- replacing the downspout adjacent to the door
The job also includes a small interior component (inside the doorway / porch area), which is simply installing gyprock (walls and ceiling), building a box around the pipes, and some minor wooden door moulding repair. This space is very small (3.5 x 3.5 feet).
2100 square feet
2 storeys (duplex)
Needs to be re-wired, plumbed, gyprocked, etc.
We are seriously considering putting in an offer on a house that needs a total gut-job. I'm talking about EVERYTHING needs to be redone. The house is between 80-100 years old. We are looking at re-working the floorplan to better suit the needs of the house. It is a over and under duplex, so there will be two of everything in this place.
We are willing to pay someone to come in a give us a quote on what it will cost us to do this project. We have a ball-park idea, but to be confident in putting in an offer, we need actual numbers.
If we like what we see from you, we can definitely work out the details to get the work done.
The house is located on the North side of the peninsula in Halifax. Let me know if you can be of any help to us. Of course the sooner you can look at it, the better for us, so we can put an offer in.
