Our basement is currently finished into a family / tv room with a bedroom and a furnace room. We are looking to add a small washroom and small kitchen. We are hoping to get ideas and getting this done with help for the least amount of changes to the current instllations.
Please contact us with some requirements and ideas.
Full three-piece basement bathroom (sink, shower, toilet) + electrical to code.
Basement bathroom requires a rough in, but is nearby powderroom piping. Two walls exist,
Kitchen will require a corner countertop with cabinetry, exhaust, electrical for appliances (GFI's) with framing+drywalling.
I am the owner, looking to get basement finished in my Ajax town house.
Basement size around aprox 600 sq/ft ( I may be off little bit)
Need to build three piece washroom, secure washing area. Framing, dry wall, pot lights, flooring and off course coloring. This is not a walkout basement. Looking to get it done with average type material in less cost.
We're looking to get a sense of how we can create either a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment for our home with kitchen, bathroom and living room.
Size is roughly 2200 Sq Ft.
We're also thinking of creating an exterior entrance as well.
Submissions from potential candidates must have references, portfolio of previous work.
Ours is a 2 1/2 years new semi-detached home built by Tribute in Ajax. An Energy Star home with basement area of 470 sq. ft including furnace and stacked laundry. We would like to make an entertainment room and a 3 pc. washroom (rough-in completed by builder). We would like to move the laundry in the washroom during renovation. Preferred flooring is carpet or laminate. A pocket door is desired in the entertainment room to use it as a guest room as and when required. We are also looking to include couple of storage rooms in the basement. Looking for a competitive no obligation free quote.
Thanks,
Ravin
Looking to finish our basement. Have $10,000.00 in our budget and are looking to put a bedroom and a family / play / tv room. As well as close off furance/ storage room and closing off the laundry area. Might be interested in doing some of the renovation ourselves but want to know the cost for the whole job. Not sure on the actual spuare footage. (guessing 600 - 800 square foot.)
Looking to get quotes on approx. 750sqft basement finished. No bathroom, just big open space with 2-3 storage closets and furnace room. Looking to build music area at one end with small raised stage area. I work at Lowe's, so I would like to look at the possibility of me supplying materials as I get employee pricing. So I suppose would need a quote for labour and material, and just labour.
For now I am just getting started, so please send contact info, website if you have one, company history and some project photo's, and then we'll narrow that list down for some details quotes.
House Info:

Looking to make basement usable:

Leaving it open concept.
May require a door for the utility/storage area
Newer (2yrs old) detached 2 storey home. Current sq/ft is approximately 2300 ft.
To finish our basement. Finished basement area will be approximately 580 sq/ft. It will include an open concept, mainly giving space for a rec/movie room, a children's play area and a home gym. Ceiling finished with drywall. Flooring finished with laminate. Stairs (12) to be finished with carpeting and with oak railing and pickets. In addition there will be a small (4x2ft) closet. I hesitate using the world "renovate", because we already have a finished basement, but we want to re-do it. It was done quite well by the previous owners, but it's not 'us'. We're looking for 2 quotes:
Quote 1:
- remove the bar
- install new carpet (which would include removing the current carpet)
- re-paint the walls
- add either wainscoting or beadboard along the walls w/baseboards
- some minor wiring as we'd like to redirect some switches, and change the lights to dimmers
Quote 2:
- remove the bar
- some minor wiring as we'd like to redirect some switches, and change the lights to dimmers
- install new carpet (which would include removing the current carpet)
- install baseboards/wainscotting framing
The last note came from this site, which we reallyclick here we'd have you install the framing, but we would paint everything ourselves (including the rest of the room). We think it looks nice, and may be all we need. But, we can discuss. While we are trying to save money, we also want quality.
Both quotes should include an option adding a small rail for the stairs leading down to the basement (6 steps).
As mentioned, we do have a bar, and it's really nice. Solid wood with marble insets, currently sitting on a section of hardwood. There is also a working sink. It will be a shame to lose it, but we never use it. If you're able to remove the bar in one piece (unlikely) or tear it down and want to keep the materials, perhaps that could be part of our negotiation.
The basement itself is approx 30' x 18'.
We are located in Ajax, near Church and Rossland.
Thanks for reading!

More jobs to come
Hi I was wondering what it would cost per sq.ft to install 175sq.ft of ceramic flooring and 500-600sq.ft laminate flooring in a basement. I already have the material, I just need a price for the labour. I am also looking for a Lin.ft price on some baseboard to be installed.
Thanks,
Cara
Approx 1,000 sq ft, home is ten years old. Insulation partially done by builder.
2 bedrooms, 1- 3 piece bath washroom ( currently roughed in), 1 furnace room. Partition frame/drywall. These rooms occupy 50% are. Rest 50% area is open hall which I would like to use as a recreational area, so maybe a built in for television gaming consoles and such. Drywall on room partitions & ceiling. Laminate on the floor and trip to be applied. Stairs leading to the basement needs to be finished.
Electrical needed (pot lights).
Please quote labor and material (or at least a range). Please let me know how many people will be working and the time it would take to complete this job.
Finish the basement completely except for the kitchen, where we would like to leave a rough in. It is about 800 sq feet of basement that needs to be finished. We would just like to have one bedroom, a washroom, a office and the rest can be left as rec space. The house is 3 years old and we would like to do laminate everywhere except the two rooms and tiles where necessary. As of right now, there is only insulation in the basement and there is nothing that has been done in the basement.
I am looking for a contractor for basement renovation.
I already have the insulation for the basement walls... I'm looking for everything else.
Electrical/Plumbing/Framing... etc.
I already have a person in mind for Framing but I am not against looking around for better pricing.
For on-site visits, it would have to be after 5:30 weekdays or any time during the weekend. We are currently in the budgeting phase and are looking to start the renovations around March? April?
Thanks,
M
Looking for quotes on finishing my basement which is approx 800+ square feet. Already have floorplan ideas which will include an open concept family room with small kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom, furnace/storge room. There is currently no rough-in for bathroom as builder was over charging but where the bathroom is mapped out is dircertly below main floor laundry room, powder room and a stack plus hot/cold water piping is easily accessible.
Walls and ceilings to be dry-walled and include sound proof insulation in ceiling
Flooring to be laminate
Bathroom to be tiled and include toilet, sink and stand up shower.
Also have an unfinished deck that needs to be completed with skirt and framing for lower 4X9 deck and additional 8ft privacy fence,, installation of decklights (already pre-wired) .
It is approximately a 900 Sq Ft basement.
I have completed framing, wiring, insulation and 90% of drywall. Need a contractor to hang the probably last 8 to 10 sheets, install 4 interior doors, tape, mud and sand and finish the basement stairs. There may be some minor electrical but nothing that a general contractor cannot do. (eg. running some final wire for a 3 way by the stairs).
We are looking to do a basement renovation along with the main bathroom and ensuite bathroom. The bathrooms are a maybe depending on price. The basement is semi finished with a room and bathroom. We would like to make the bathroom slightly bigger and move the room somewhere else. We would also like tiles in the cold room along with very basic shelves. Our max budget for the basement is $20,000, if it comes under then we can do the bathrooms.
